The World Championship will be hosted by Fraglia della Vela, a club with an ancient name (“brotherhood of sailing”) but a modern structure and a professional approach. They have great experience with international dinghy regattas and top organizational skills that guarantees an efficient management for the expected large fleet. Fraglia della Vela is located between two little harbours and has large spaces ashore for boats and cars/vans and three large ramps oriented in different directions, plus two beaches. The architectural design of the Club House is modern and very attractive but also really functional and race oriented: inside you find the Secretary, Race Office and four rooms available for Race/Jury Committee, media press and other activities during regattas. A room of up to one hundred people can also accommodate for special events, meetings like our AGM and trade exhibitions. Outside, next to the main entrance, are located two big dressing rooms with showers and toilets. There is a gym with weight area and fitness room, a restaurant, a bar and even a “pizzeria”. The big terrace in front of the lake is quite spectacular.
Outside there are two separate areas to park boats. In the recent past they have been able to host 630 Ilcas, 240 Moth, and 130 J/70s: even a top number of about 180 Contenders would be no problem.
On the south side of the club are two moorings reserved for coach boats, which can host more than 100 ribs.
