Places to See

Malcesine is considered one of the best medieval villages in Italy, no wonder Goethe wrote enthusiastically about it. First thing to see is the Castello Scaligero, a beautiful castle right on the lake. Then you should go to Palazzo dei Capitani, an ancient building (1200-1300) with a romantic garden facing the water. A must in Malcesine is the cable car that brings you up to Monte Baldo, a beauty mountain (2218 mt. above the sea) where you have a breathtaking view of the Garda Lake and Adige River.
Whether you are a bike rider or not, you should not miss the opportunity to try the new dedicated bike path from Riva to Limone where you’ll ride suspended in the air with the rock on the side and the water below.
An hour from Malcesine and you’ll be in Verona, with its Roman Arena and Juliet’s balcony. An hour and half and you are in Vicenza and Padua. Two hours and there is Venice…
A great experience would be to take a boat on the Po River and visit the magnificent Palladium villas.
Not enough? In less than two hours train you could be in Milan with its completely new skyline. If you visited the foggy, traffic jammed city ten or twenty years ago you would not believe to your eyes: the fashion capital has undergone an impressive plastic surgery becoming one of the most modern and fascinating city in Europe.
